About:
I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) senior accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and a member of the EMDR Association UK.
I work integratively, which means using aspects of different psycho-therapeutic approaches depending on a client's difficulties and needs. I specialise in attachment strategies and explore with clients how early life experiences may have affected these and their impact on current relationships with others as well as the self.
As we are all connected to others and our surroundings in the wider society we live in, I recognise and address inter-cultural experiences.
I work by looking at attachment styles, developmental stages, patterns of behaviour and facilitate inner child work, helping to connect past experiences to the present, whilst seeking to bring about desired changes.
Goals can be raising self-esteem and awareness, relieving depression, anxiety, panic attacks and traumatic stress, or improving relationships and looking at identity and/or inter-cultural issues, for example.
I provide a safe and confidential space for clients to identify their inner needs, recognise and validate their experiences and manage feelings and emotions.
I am a member of the BACP and follow their code of ethics, which you can learn more about on their website: www.bacp.co.uk.
